Iron Maiden : 12 Wasted Years
Steve Harris is a legend. In this video he tells about his history with
Maiden: how it all began, what he thinks of his lifestyle, and the direction that Iron
Maiden is headed. Many people are interviewed, including Paul Dianno, Maiden's record
producers, and the man started the official Iron Maiden fan-club. (He's been a fan and
roadie since the beginning, almost--or at least until this video was shot.)
There are some great video clips here to be found and some funny outtakes.
I found it humorous to see a video where each of the members of Maiden exchanged
instruments during the song, while they rotated from instrument to instrument. A sight to
see. Among the great videos include "Stranger in a Strange Land," which was
apart of the Somewhere Out on Tour...Many great pre Bruce "Air-Raid Sirens"
Dickinson era videos include "Charlotte the Harlot," "Running Free,"
and "Total Eclipse," which included former vocalist Paul Dianno.
This video does a pretty nice job of spanning Maiden's career up until
this time period (1988.) I enjoyed the videos, as always, and the interviews were what I
expected from the Maiden boys. Overall, a fairly nice video that is worth the hour and a
half of your time to watch. This isn't the best Maiden video out there, but it's
definitely not the worst, either. Check it out if you can find it.
Overall score: 85/100
